Bright red-ruby. Musky but initially subdued aromas of plum, red cherry and botanical herbs, though the fruit gains in weight with aeration. Then ripe red cherry, woodsy underbrush and spice flavors are joined by a musky tobacco quality that leaves an impression of a faintly bitter but not unpleasant edge. Ripely tannic on the broad, savory but not exceptionally long finish. A fairly intense and substantial wine, in a warm style (15% alcohol) that will match best with hearty foods such as stews.Drink 2020-2030.
